"Is it sinful to participate in a bible study that is facilitated by Evangelicals?"
Of course, you will be reading the same book. You will be reading the same bible, you will be reading the same written word of God. But what spells the difference between a Catholic bible study, and an Evangelical bible study? An Evangelical bible study is a free-for-all interpretation. But in our case, our interpretations are always guided by Apostolic Tradition and by the Magisterium of the Church.
We cannot have a free-for-all interpretation of Sacred Scriptures, just as you cannot have a free-for-all interpretation of the Constitution of the land. The official interpreter of the Constitution is not the legislative body, it is not the executive body, but the official interpreter of the Constitution is always the Supreme Court. What the Supreme Court says is the right and the real interpretation of the Constitution, in the same way what Apostolic Tradition and the Magisterium says the official interpretation of the Sacred Scriptures."

It is important to remember that we are to study the Scriptures to seek and know Jesus as our source of eternal life. The power of understanding what the Scriptures say is not for knowledge only but because they testify of Jesus.
